Biografie Vice-chair - Road Safety Great Britain

Liz Brooker MBE is Lewisham Council’s Road Safety & Sustainable Transport Manager having been involved in road safety within Lewisham for more than three decades. She is responsible for delivering the Bikeability cycle training programme and the council’s School Crossing Patrol service, as well as road safety campaigns and initiatives, encouraging smarter travel choices and school travel plans, and she has been responsible for the introduction of a borough wide 20 mph speed limit.

Liz is also Road Safety GB Vice Chair and the London Region’s Press and Communications Officer, having previously held the position of Road Safety GB National Press and Public Relations Officer. Liz has represented the London European Partnership for Transport (LEPT) on European forums including the Eurocities mobility forum, where she chaired the Road Safety Working Group for a number of years until 2014 and more recently has become involved in attending the Polis Road Safety Working Group meetings. 

Liz saw her services to road safety rewarded with a MBE in the 2016 Queen’s Birthday Honours.
